Project Safe Neighborhoods Kickoff

CRIME VICTIMS UNITED

Federal Program Targets Gun Violence

On Tuesday, January 21, a kickoff event will be held for Project Safe Neighborhoods. PSN is a federal program to reduce gun violence through federal prosecution and public awareness. This event marks the start of the program in Oregon where the emphasis will be on armed career criminals and domestic violence.

The Oregon PSN effort will be led by U.S. Attorney Mike Mosman in cooperation with state, county, city and local law enforcement. A committee including sheriffs, district attorneys, police officials, community corrections officials and CVU President Steve Doell is assisting Mr. Mosman.

Among the speakers at the kickoff event will be U.S. Attorney Mike Mosman, Governor Ted Kulongoski, CVU President Steve Doell, and Ronita Sutton, a CVU supporter whose son Christopher was murdered in 1998.
